Zinc Stearate Powder Improvement Sanding Property Of The Primer for NC Coatings
Description
Zinc stearate is used in the pharmaceutical industry and the cosmetic products like face powder to improve the smoothness and adhesion. It is used in paint industry as a gloss imparting agent and a grinding agent. In plastic and rubber processing, zinc stearate is ued as a releasing agent and lubricant which can be easily incorporated. It is used as as a metal release agent in rubber, polyurethane and polyester processing system.
Applications
The film-forming substances of NC are mainly cellulose nitrate (nitrocellulose)and alkyd resin.NC is natural drying coating which is characterized by a dry-speed quickly. Because the big molecular weight of cellulose nitrate and the low solid content of NC, its wettability for powder is poor. Therefore, appropriate addition of zinc stearate is 1%to 2%in NC, adding overload will affect the
adhesion and transparency of the primer.
